How does it work?

We are based in Prague and Brno. For that reason, we usually hold two separate volunteer meetings, one for the Bohemian and one for the Moravian + Silesian region (so that you wouldn’t have to travel across the country to be in our get-togethers). In these particular times we meet on Zoom but once it’s possible, we’ll start holding the meetings in person again. That being said, it is totally up to you which one of these meetings you’d like to attend – you can go to both and meet Konsent people from all over the Czech Republic.

At our meetings in Brno, you’ll be regularly seeing Marci. Our meetings in Prague are organised by Karolína.

How often do we meet up?

We usually meet up once a month. That applies to corona times as well.

Bohemia – 1st Wednesday of the month at 6pm.

Moravia + Silesia – 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6pm.

Besides those regular meetings, we have a bunch of smaller volunteer teams that hold their own sessions. Here are examples of some of our teams:

  •         The graphics team
  •         The English team
  •         The production team
  •         The Instagram team
  •         The law team

We are continuously forming new teams, either as opportunities arise or out of the initiative of our volunteers. The teams regularly get together and they communicate via mail or slack. If you already know that you’d like to become a member of some of the teams presented above, don’t forget to let us know in the volunteer form.

You’ll receive more information about our meetings once you fill out our volunteer form (link).

What to expect from our meetings?

Our meetings really are more like get-togethers. We share stories, recent experiences, book and film recommendations, what we’re currently working on and what’s happening in Konsent at the moment. We also give out tasks and together we try to come up with ideas on how to go about them. The entire meeting is informal and there’s always a lot of space to just simply share our thoughts about what’s going on around us. Also, each month a different member of the Konsent team pays a visit to these meetings so those of you who decide to attend regularly will slowly be able to meet everyone!

What do we do when there are no meetings planned?

We communicate via e-mail, we help out with tasks that are already in motion and we attend various educational events (even though that basically qualifies as meeting, right 😊)

How much time does volunteering take up?

That’s entirely up to you. It can take an hour a month, it can take several hours a week. Our tasks are very diverse and they usually take various amounts of time to complete. It’s also up to you to choose whether you will attend meetings and some of our trainings or not.

What are the perks of being a Konsent volunteer?

You’ll be doing meaningful work.

You can participate in a variety of different types of training – in the past, our volunteers were able to attend a class on the National Curriculum (Rámcový vzdělávací program) or fundraising, to give an example.

You can attend all of our workshops for free (if there’s a vacant spot).

You’ll meet new friends.

You’ll meet a lot of like-minded people.

You’ll expand your knowledge on prevention of sexual violence and harassment.

I want to participate, what do I do now?

Just fill out our volunteer form and you’ll hear from us soon 😊

What if I don’t want to volunteer but I still want to support you?

That’s also an excellent choice! In that case, we’d love for you to keep an eye on our website and social media where you can share our content so that our message keeps spreading. We’ll also be very grateful for any type of financial donation on Darujme.
